14 Prepare Vegetables: Slice daikon, carrot, shiitake mushrooms, and scallions. 16 Beat egg: Crack an egg and beat it in a small bowl. 1 Make the soup: In a medium pot, add water, dashi powder, sliced vegetables and boil over medium heat. 17 Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for 4 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. 18 Add rice: Add the cooked rice to the pot and continue simmering for a few additional minutes. 19 Season: Season the soup with salt and soy sauce according to your taste. 20 Add egg: Gently pour the beaten egg into the simmering soup and continue to simmer for one more minute. 7 Serve: Ladle the zosui into small bowls and top with chopped scallions (optional).View original recipe
