Instructions
0 Prepare the Tofu: Place a heavy object on top of the tofu for 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into small pieces. 1 Pan-fry the Tofu: Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cover each tofu piece with potato starch and pan-fry until crispy. Flip them over to ensure both sides are nicely crispy. Transfer the tofu to a wire rack to drain the excess oil, once done. 2 Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce: In the clean frying pan, combine mirin, soy sauce, sake, and sugar for the teriyaki sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and blend the flavors. 4 Combine Tofu with Sauce: Return all the cooked tofu to the frying pan and coat it with the teriyaki sauce. 3 Assemble the Tofu Donburi: Serve cooked rice in a medium bowl, sprinkle shredded nori over the rice, and place teriyaki tofu on one side and roasted vegetables on the other. Garnish generously with sesame seeds.View original recipe
