Avocado roll is one of the easiest sushi recipes you can make at home. With just 6 simple ingredients, it’s simple, fresh, and perfect for beginners!
Sushi Rice
Prepare the ingredients: Slice the avocado into even pieces. Cut a nori sheet in half along the lines using your hands or scissors.
Make the sushi rice: In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl, then gradually pour the mixture over the rice while gently folding with a rice paddle or spatula.
Assemble: Place the nori on a bamboo mat, shiny side down. Spread the rice evenly over the nori, leaving about 1 cm (½ inch) uncovered at the top. Place 2 avocado slices across the center.
Roll: Lift the edge of the mat closest to you and start rolling tightly, keeping the filling in place with your fingers. Continue rolling until sealed, applying gentle pressure to shape the roll.
Cut the sushi roll: Wipe your knife with a damp cloth before cutting. Cut the roll in half, then align the halves and cut each into 3 pieces.
