Preparation: Separate the stems from the caps, cut the caps in half, and remove the tough tip of the stems. Then, thinly slice the stems as they can be quite tough.
Saute Shiitake Mushrooms: Heat a frying pan over medium heat and melt the butter. Add the shiitake mushrooms and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are browned. Flip them over and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Season: Turn off the heat and add soy sauce to the frying pan. Stir the mushrooms in the soy sauce until they are coated evenly.
